Michael Blaser Paints the Riverfront in Lawrenceburg
October 2011 marked the 200th anniversary of the first steamboat voyage on the Ohio River. That historic voyage began an important era that impacted the economic, social and cultural lives of people living in many river communities, including our own Lawrenceburg. To acknowledge this remarkable milestone, Lawrenceburg Main Street Association has commissioned renowned artist Michael Blaser (www.michaelblaser.com) to create a rendition of the riverfront in Lawrenceburg of that time period. Michael Blaser is a celebrated artist whose research and in depth study brings to life the time period of his paintings. He was the Official Artist for the 2006 Tall Stacks Music, Arts and Heritage Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has done scenes from St. Paul to New Orleans and Cairo to Pittsburgh.
The print format will be a Giclee', (pronounced Zhee-Klay), which encompasses the finest acid free paper or canvas and the introduction of high resolution archival inks in droplet form, which most closely resembles original oil on canvas when completed.

You won't want to miss this unique opportunity to acquire this artwork, only 250 will be printed. The print will be available early 2012. Reserve your limited edition print and consider a gift certificate as a Christmas gift. The finished original oil sketch is now available for purchase at the FRAMERY.
